Empowering the next generation of Young Africans to lead the fight in HIV prevention.
The future is
Young.
We believe that the power to transform Africa’s health landscape lies in the hands of its youth. The HIV Prevention and Action Academy is a dedicated space for young leaders to move from the sidelines to the centre of the response. By training Champions in Johannesburg and Ambassadors in Zambia, we are cultivating a generation of advocates who speak the language of their peers and lead with lived experience.
The future is Informed.
Knowledge is the foundation of autonomy. Through the technical skills found in the ZAZI Toolkit and intensive training on biomedical tools, we ensure that every young person understands the full spectrum of choices available to them—from oral PrEP to the innovative PrEP Ring. Our goal is to replace stigma with science, ensuring that every community has access to accurate, practical, and life-saving information.
The future is
HIV Negative.
Every training session, technical visit, and resource distributed is a step toward a continent free from new infections. By equipping leaders in South Africa, Zambia, and Malawi with advocacy and facilitation skills, we are creating a sustainable network focused on prevention in action. We are committed to a future where every woman and girl has the power to choose her method, and every young person has the tools to stay negative.
Our Mission
The HIV Prevention in Action Academy is a dedicated sub-program of APHA.org.za. We focus on community development and the practical distribution of life-saving resources across the continent. We don’t just talk about prevention; we equip young adults to drive it.
